Awana Volunteer

Children’s Volunteer Mission Statement

Using God’s Word as a guide, the children’s volunteer at Summit Awana exists to encourage, motivate, protect, teach, and love the children in his or her group. All other things at Awana, though important, are secondary.

Volunteer Qualifications

· Saved by faith in Jesus Christ

· Growing in your faith, love and knowledge of God and His Word

· Available and willing to commit to serving God weekly at Awana

· Passionate about sharing the Gospel of Jesus with children

· Desire to have FUN and willingness to be flexible!

What We Do

· Complete training at Awana & online

· Attend\participate in Awana weekly through the season: late-August thru April

· Shepherd a small group of children while they recite verses and complete Bible-based study and activities

· Assist during activities

· Help children stay focused during lessons

· Show the children love, patience and be a Godly role model

· Pray for the children and encourage them as they grow in their faith and knowledge of Jesus

• Admin: YM (Middle & High School)

Background checks are required for all new volunteers.
