2021-22 Season Info

Please be aware that all information is tentative and subject to change!

General

Seating\placement may be limited for all age groups, both @Summit and @Home, according to the capacity that can meet @Summit and to maintain a ratio of children to volunteers, if necessary. Seats will be available on a 1st registered, 1st seated basis with priority given to children of volunteers.

Registration is online only.

Child registration is planned to open on Saturday, August 14 on the registration page.

Volunteer registration is open online now!

Seats & placement will be posted online by August 30.

A wait list will be started after all seats\places are filled based on available volunteers. As more volunteers join, we’ll open more seats up to the capacity limit, if one applies.

We’re so thankful for your willingness to be part of the ministry!

Volunteer Q&A's are below. Please contact us with any questions.

Awana@Summit

Summit Christian Church leadership decides guidelines that will be followed at Awana. Guidelines may change before the season starts and as the season progresses.Summit Awana is a ministry of Summit, not an independent organization that simply meets at Summit’s building. We are part of the family!

Groups include:

  • Cubbies – 3 & 4 years old + potty trained
  • Sparks – Kindergarten - 2nd grade
  • T&T – 3rd - 6th grade
  • YM – 7th - 8th grade (Trek) & High School (Journey)

In Cubbies, seats are based on the number of volunteers available in order to maintain a ratio of 5 children:1 volunteer.

For all other groups, seats are available according to room capacity limits. Currently, there are no restrictions and this is subject to change based on local ordinance.

We meet on Tuesday evenings at 6:45 PM.

Pick-up for Cubbies is 8:15 PM, all other groups is 8:25 PM.

Seating placement is determined based on a 1st registered, 1st seated basis with priority given to children of volunteers. If there is a need to limit attendance based on capacity restrictions, we'll first ask for volunteers to transition to Awana@Home and then will approach families to transition based on seating placement, which we earnestly pray will not be necessary!

We’ll do our best to transition everyone to Awana@Home.

Here’s what we know for now.

  • Check-in & pick-up process will be at the entry to your child(ren)'s meeting room
  • Awana store maintains small number of children at any given time
  • FastTrack is not available
  • Child care is not available

Awana@Home

For each age group, seats will be available according to the number of volunteers available.

Groups include:

  • Sparks: Kindergarten - 2nd grade
  • T&T: 3rd - 6th grade
  • YM: 7th - 8th grade (Trek) & High School (Journey)

Awana@Home is designed to be flexible according to the schedule and method that works best for your family and the volunteer(s) assigned to meet with your child(ren). The goal is for the Awana volunteer to make weekly contact with your child.

Based on this, it is expected that Awana@Home may look different for each family and even for different children within your family. The assigned volunteer(s) for your child(ren) will contact you to discuss the best schedule and method for communication and handbook section completion.

The goal of weekly contact is to establish a relationship with your child and let them know that they are loved and important! The Awana volunteer will talk with your child, discuss the lesson, go over handbook section(s) and pray with them.

Examples of options include and are not limited to:

  • Weekly phone calls
  • Weekly video calls
  • Online small group meetings with your volunteer and multiple children in the group
  • Recorded videos of your child reciting verses sent via text
  • Pictures of completed sections sent via text

Starter pamphlets and handbooks will be delivered to your home by an Awana volunteer. Earned awards will be mailed regularly.

Yes! Lessons will be available online – either directly from Awana International or from the Director of your child’s group. Details TBA.
